This whole section of town is very much based around a sort of 'what you see is what you get' vibe. In honesty I love it. It's a straight up affair with the butchers, the grocers and here, with the greasy-spoon.

Not to be confused with the glamorous Bristol Flyer pub down the road this is the Fryer. An interesting little place that's hard to categorise, it is, I suppose by definition, a cafe. Pizza and chips, fish and chips or a full English (with chips if you want) all for less than a fiver. Can of coke? Cup of tea?

    Sorted.

It pains me to write a negative review of this place as I have had some great take aways from here. However over the last year or two they have really declined. The last 3 or 4 times times both the chips and the fish (batter) were undercooked! There is nothing more off putting then undercooked batter.
I would say that this is perhaps because they were conscious of us waiting but it even happened when we paid to get it delivered.
I hope they sort it out and return to form as this was, until recently, a great chippy. The chicken wraps are a particular favourite of mine along with the fish bites. Sadly it may be a while before I'm brave enough to take my chances here again.

Pizza and chips, £4.99... full feeling... Priceless!

A smashing little food place (not quite a Cafe and not quite a resteraunt!) great for a quick fry up, late brunch, filling diner, or fast food on the go.

The price is fair, nothing too expensive. Seats outside for fairer weather.

A popular stop with residents and students of Horfield, late friday morning many hungover faces can be seen inside.

As you may already know, i like to treat myself to a fry-up on a Saturday morning as a way of congratulating myself on having made it through another week of work, and I enjoy touring the cafe's of Bristol as an exscuse to also check out the shops in the local vicinity. On my visit to here over the weekend, I went for a big breakfast and it was very enjoyable. This place is not quite the greasy spoon that you may imagine it to be, but also it's not a classy restaurant - it's a nice, friendly little place that serves up all those foods that you know you shouldn't really be allowing to pass your lips, but you just can't help yourself. If you find yourself in the Horfield area and in the search for a fry up, or chips, or pizza then do check out the Bristol Fryer.

Great chippy, worth a visit. Descent curry sauce and good artory clogging portions.
